I’ll be the first to admit, I am no fashionista. ”Need a stylist” is an understatement. One pair of comfortable dress shoes gets me through my work week and my accessories are my dogs.
It’s not that I don’t want to be up and up with the current trends, it’s just that furniture and vacations just seem way more appealing to me!
I’ve come to realize that I need to force myself to spend a little on my style before someone nominates me for What Not To Wear!
I’ve found the solution! In our house we have developed a deal… You Break It ~ I Buy It (or something of equal value to release the anger I feel toward you breaking something). You see my husband tends to break things… You name it, he has probably broke it. A steak knife, my windshield, the magic bullet… In the past, it would just make me so mad. BUT NOW, I couldn’t be happier!
He is not a klutz, just doesn’t really know his own strength. He is probably going to be choked that I’m posting this, but hey, maybe he will break something in anger and I will get to go SHOPPING! Love yah Babe!
With that being said, I’ll be blogging about the new products of purchases I discover and let you know how I like them! Stay tuned!

Yesterday was a day to remember those who fought to make our world a better place. Today take a moment to remember all of the innocent people and animals that lost their lives because of war.
Today I came across Article 22, an company that helps artisans in struggling countries design, market and sell their products throughout the world. Moved would be an understatement of how I felt. After visiting their website for their Project peaceBOMB movement, I was shocked on what I learned. I had no idea that the United States had done this… I guess that is why they call it the secret war. Please watch this video from Article 22 Bombs To Bracelets.
“Project peaceBOMB combines human ingenuity and aluminum non-war and war scrap metal to create bracelets that tell a story about their makers and the legacies of our shared history: the Secret War, 1964-1973, during the Vietnam conflict which left Laos the most heavily bombed country per capita in history.
Each peaceBOMB purchase funds artisans, village development, clearance of bombs from farmland, and raises awareness of war legacies and the need to ban cluster bombs which injure and kill civilians long after war’s end.”
They are classic beautiful bracelets, and I will be buying at least one for sure! Every purchase supports the development of communities in Laos. You can learn more about Article 22 here.
11.11.11 ~ Today is a day to remember all who have fought to make Canada what it is. Including man’s best friend.
These war dogs are so very special. They have given companionship, courage and hope to many soldiers.
Take moment today to remember…

A local gem! This custom built house by Young Development is located in Whistler, British Columbia. The interior and exterior finishes were selected by local designer Kelly Deck. This is definitely my kind of place! Love the surroundings, privacy and views.
